PictureWeave and Photo Weave Products

Tapestries have been woven with life scenes since the starting of woven fabric. Some of the earliest known examples were of Battle Fields depicting battles and victories of war. The early weaving's were limited in their potential by the skill of the weaver and the availability of dyed fabric of suitable color and quality. Later weavings were limited by the fabric availability and the complexity of the looms used. Today distinct scenes are woven into the fabric depicting gorgeous scenes limited only by the imagination of the weaver. With contemporary technology, looms can be set up to weave any pattern from a picture and the resulting woven fabric will be an exact replica of the photograph, together with the background color and all the colors of the spectrum shown in the photograph.

The contemporary technology used today involves the use of a scanner to read the photo and copy to a computer. Software is used to tell the loom which color of thread to use etc.

Tote Bag Sewing Pattern

The resulting woven image is an exact copy of the photo which was scanned. It uses the same technology as sewing machines that sew using a computer program. The resulting products are life like. They make you wonder why we mortal humans are needed in the process. Unlike products artificial by applying the color to the fabric after weaving, these products will never fade or change texture because the scene you see is woven in with the standard color thread. And very appropriately these manufacturers will not originate inappropriate images on their products as do some manufacturers of cheap t-shirts and other items.

PictureWeave (a registered trademark of Pure Country weavers), and some other weavers, are manufacturing products such as Tote-Bags, Pillows, Throws and Wall Hangings from photo's, resulting in very personalized products. Some of the common themes are weddings, anniversaries, house reunions, school reunions, birthdays, beloved pets and the list goes on. They are very beloved as gifts for any occasion.

The only limitation in the potential of the products woven is the potential of the photo used. Always pick a photo with good focus and high contrast. A white field on a white background will not furnish the best image, nor will a dark image on a dark background. Ordinarily the manufacturer will only do limited editing, so check the photo to be sure it projects the final image you want woven. What you see is what you will get in the final product. Photos with a final 8x10 proportion are best.

For digital photographs, you should make sure the photo is of reasonably high resolution, as a photo that is too small will supervene in a low resolution weaving. A minimum of 1280x960 pixels, or practically 1 mega pixel is suggested.

Always remember any picture taken by a pro photographer cannot be reproduced without permission from the photographer because of copy rights.

Have one woven and you will appreciate and enjoy the contemporary technology at work.

gawk the Joys and Benefits of Quilting - An Inspirational and Creative Form of Craft

Quilting was a base group performance in the past. While earlier times, quilting fabric was an performance which farm wives like to get together to do. These are opportunities for them to recession from their straining bodily chores of farm life and do something light and beneficial together. At that time, quilts were an primary article in households, not only as bed coverings, but also as curtains, and petticoats and waistcoats to keep the body warm. In fact, patchwork quilting was created by homemakers While the time when there was a shortage of fabric. Worn out sewn items were often recycled into patches for quilts.

Today, quilting is no longer practiced to satisfy economic or group needs, but for expression and enjoyment. Patchwork is not longer plainly a form of frugality, but rather someone else form of art. Although quilts are still sometimes made from fabric scraps, the quilt maker is more likely to use the scraps to recreate the charming look of old quilts or to commemorate an event, rather than out of necessity. Quilting is now used as a creative and inspirational form of craft. As quilts provide warm and comfort, they are used for clothing and bed coverings. There are those which are kept as intelligent works of art. They have been showcases for the talents and skills of their creators. The range of quilted items, nowadays, has wide to comprise placemats, wall hangings, upholstery covers, table runners, bonnets, diaper totes, eyeglass cases, makeup bags and hanger covers.

Making quilts today is easier than you may have ever imagined. The development of quilts does not require any special skills, just a normal knowledge of sewing. If you can sew a button or mend a hem, you can indeed make a quilt. Quilting is plainly using a technique to stitch together layers of fabric using a ornamental pattern to create a variety of beautiful and practical objects. A completed quilt is indeed a creatively stitched together sandwich of fabric and batting. The basic tool for quilting comprise needles, pins, thread, scissors, thimble, beeswax and a frame or hoop to quilt on. Other necessities are a long ruler, masking tape, drawing paper and a mark for transferring quilt patterns onto fabric. Although machine techniques may have substituted the tedious hand sewing one, modern quilt makers still take inspiration from old quilts and try to adapt those designs and techniques to today's lifestyles.

It is important that while working on excellent quilting patterns, a quilt maker should not just replicate the patterns and colors shown in the samples but also to adapt the patterns to his or her own color preferences and ideas. He or she should endeavor to create his or her own unique designs and try out new techniques. In this way, he or she can make improve by gaining new technical skills as well as new insights into the invent process. For more information, please go to Manage stress through recreation.

In 1959, Welch played the title role in The Ramona Pageant, a yearly outdoor play at Hemet, California, which is based on the novel Ramona by Helen Hunt Jackson and Bob Biloe. She became a weather forecaster at KFMB, a local San Diego television station. Because of her heavy schedule, she decided to leave her studies at San Diego State University (then known as San Diego State College). She was cast in bit parts in two films and in the television shows Bewitched, McHale's Navy, and The Virginian, as well as on the weekly variety series The Hollywood Palace as a billboard girl and presenter of acts. Welch's first featured role came in the beach film A Swingin' Summer, which led to a contract with 20th Century Fox. She was subsequently cast in a leading role in the sci-fi hit Fantastic Voyage (1966), which made her a star. She was the last star created under the studio system. Fabric Art Takes on Fashion in Many Forms

Fabric Art is dissimilar from fiber art in that fiber art often evokes images of the processes involved with gathering, combing, spinning and weaving. Fiber art utilizes rustic fibers as well as the textural elements of refined fibers regularly to originate functional items such as rugs, placemats or runners, wearable items such as shawls, skirts or jackets, or wall decoration.

Fabric Art brings forth images of quilting, piecing and appliqué of man-made fabric-on-fabric or maybe sewing with cloth in general for the purpose of creating clothing and home accessories. In the fine arts and crafts business, fiber is becoming more and more popular. Years ago, a lot fiber art was rustic in rapture. Do you remember all the woven and knotted plant hangers, rag rugs and burlap sculptures? But weaving with fine yarns, many with piquant additions of silk and ribbon and chenille has brought forth piquant and trendy wearable clothing items which buyers find desirable.

Tote Bag Sewing Pattern

Fabric art can be described in other ways aside from quilting and appliqué work. whatever who designs and/or sews can be carefully a fabric artist. citizen have done so for centuries. Stiffened fabric is now used to make ornamental bowls--it's sometimes used as wallpaper and surely fills our homes with color and texture in every conceivable way on furniture, coverings and draperies. Artistic in design, by texture, by choice of color and by application of myriads of beautiful trims--home décor is truly "fabric art". From following patterns to make a uncomplicated baby layette to the most involved evening dress, sewing is also truly "fabric art".
